On a Mission

Last week I posted about how I was going to get back on track.  I weighed myself Monday morning.. at a big ole 217.2  Not at all happy where it was.. but then again happy that it was not my highest weight (226)

I also made a decision that with all the apps that I have on my phone.. I needed to hand write them down.  I had ordered this small Uncalendar at the beginning of the year.. and realized that I really wanted the bigger one for my school stuff. Now.. if you know me.. I LOVE using my devices, but I have found that no matter what app or device I have.. I prefer to go back to pen and paper for my lists, and the Uncalendar is PERFECT!

Anyway.. I pulled out my Uncalendar and printed off my blog from last week and glued it in.  I added my weight to it (217.2) and set up 4 goals for myself this week:
1. Walk 2 mornings
2. Walk 3 evenings
3. 2 days strength training
4. Finish 1 Book

Well.. goals 1-3 didn't happen.. but I DID finish a book (ok, so it was a picture book.. but I finished it.. and I started another!)

What I did do though.. I made sure to take A TON of extra steps in school.  I ate way less portions of meals.  I drank a ton of water (and I do mean a ton.. each morning I stop at Sonic and get a Rt. 44 water with lemon. Great way to start my day with the best ice.. and Styrofoam cup)  Biggest accomplishment.. I cut way back on my soda intake.  I mean.. I went 3 different days without even batting an eye at not having a soda.  I also packed my own breakfast every morning.. and almost every day packed my lunch.

Weighed in this morning.. and I am 212.8... what the what.. that is 4.4 pounds! Now, official weigh in for myself is tomorrow morning (Sundays are a hard day to eat somewhat healthy.. but hopefully I did okay!)

Next up on Nerdfitness is the Nutrition portion.  Right now I am between a Level 2 and Level 3.

I will start at Level 2!  This next week I will continue to work on documenting what I am eating.. and continue to cut back on my liquid calories.  This time next week I should be writing about how I am leveling up to Level 3 on the Nutrition portion!  New pictures next week :)

Checking In

Well, I know that I posted my blog on August 17th of the things that I was going to do by September 30th.   I was doing so well, packing my lunch.. cutting down on sodas.. and then my husband lost his job and a new stressful school year started.  We have gone through this before, but this time hit me much more emotionally the times in the past.  So, not going to lie.. I have put on about 7 pounds in the last month.  In other words.. I am making excuses to why I have failed SO miserably this last month.

So.. rather than create new goals.. I am reposting my first attempt at a New Me!  So.. welcome to this wild roller coaster called taking care of myself!

I also joined Nerd Fitness Academy  The first section of Nerd Fitness Academy is all over my mindset... so here goes!

I snapped my before photos- these have been sitting on my phone for almost a month now.  It also required me to measure myself.  I will post those in another blog.

My Big Why for wanting to lose weight:
I am a 34 year old successful woman. I am lucky to have an amazing husband who always keeps me on my toes and I am lucky to have so many amazing people in my life.  However, I am coming up on my 10 year anniversary.  My big why for losing weight?  I want to start a family!  By really looking at what I am eating for one thing I will save money- as I won't be eating as much fast food (I have mentioned that I am a fast food aholic!) I am already a very busy person, but I want to be able to come home in the evening and not just sit in front of the computer or the TV.  I want to be able wear the cute clothes that my friends wear.  I want to be as healthy as I am happy right now!  I also want to look AMAZING for whatever we decide to do for our 10 year wedding anniversary!

My Goals for the rest of August and September 2014
I am the type of person that drinks 1-2 Rt. 44 Diet Dr. Pepper's a day
-By October 31st I will only drink 1 large Diet Dr. Pepper per day!
I am the type of person that enjoys Fast Food
-By October 31st I will cook one healthy meal per week.
I am the type of person that usually only gets 5-6 hours a sleep an evening
-By October 31st I will sleep at least 7 hours per night.
I am the type of person that enjoys my walk in the evenings and don't always raise my heart rate
-By October 31st I will get up at least 45 minutes earlier 3 times a week to get a brisk walk in before work.
I am the type of person that gives up on strength training.
-By October 31st I will spend at least 3 days doing strength training

Batcave Challenge:
Removing Steps:
-Shutting down ALL devices by 10pm
-move the candy jar and sweet treats off the counter
-TV will be shut off by 11pm

Adding to my life:
-Will have walking clothes set out for the morning
-Will pack lunch and set out clothes the night before
-Will plan breakfast the night before

So, here are my mindset changes that I am going to make.  I will be printing this off and keeping it with me handy so I can remind myself of the things I CAN do!  Excited for a change this year :)  I am adding to my calendar right now to work through the nutrition portion of Nerdfitness challenge next weekend!  Be watching for my next blog!

New School Year.. New Me!

As the title of my blog says.. AKBusybee! I am such a Busy Bee and always running (but not running enough to keep off the weight) This summer.. I didn't lose weight.. but I also didn't gain to much weight either. I found that when I am working I am much better at staying on task for losing weight.

Positives from this summer:
-walking almost every evening with my awesome friend Robin- We have already decided that we will be walking this year in the evenings.
-packing my lunch daily when I was at work-there was no excuse for me to leave my job!
-packing healthy snacks when I traveled

Let's Do This!- Accountability

The school year is finally winding down, and I am finally getting things into place to make my weight loss/healthy lifestyle much easier.
May 25, 2014- 216.4

If you read my welcome blog you might notice that I have gained 2 pounds since I wrote it! I am a person with drive, but with drive you have to have accountability.  I might have the accountability with myself.. but that is not enough! I had been chatting with my amazing friend Steve Dembo who has done an amazing job getting fit.  They are launching a website DENFitFriday

So, today I picked up the ingredients for the breakfast
Ingredients for  Cinnamon French Toast

I signed up for Runner's World Run Streak which is to do at least a mile a day starting Memorial Day through the 4th of July.   I have also been using the Nudge app (in using that.. I realize that I do not get enough sleep!)  I am also using Thrive and still using MyFitnesspal

So, lots of things going, but I know that my new accountability is going to make a HUGE change!

Now, I know that I can do this.. but nothing is every easy and although I like to see the good in things I have to be realistic about the obstacles that will stand in my way.
- Making sure to make time to complete the Runner's World running streak challenge
- Not eating for convenience
- Getting enough sleep
- Not using a gym

I am sure this list could go on and on! How do you stay motivated?  What do you do to help keep yourself accountable?

Welcome

Hi, and welcome to my journey!  Didn't watch the video... no worries! I am Andrea and I am a fast food aholic and a stress eater.  I really began this journey last January and lost almost 30 pounds.  I blogged about it in various places.. but I realized that I needed a place to just blog about my weight loss goals.

Now, to be totally honest... I am very happy with how I look and who I am.  However, I would be even happier in smaller clothes!  So, today I start this journey again at 214.2 pounds and a size 16.   I also have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and I want to become a mother.  If I lose weight I have a better chance of this actually happening.  In June 2015 we are going to start the adoption process.. so either way whether I am a mother biologically or not.. I want to be in shape for that little one!

Things I will be doing:
-Tracking my calories at Myfitnesspal.com
-Not eating after 8pm
-Making a conscious effort to slow down on sodas and fast food
-Sharing my journey to keep me more accountable!

My first goal is to be down 15 pounds by July.  This is a TOTALLY reasonable goal!

How do you stay on track? What are your goals?
